The period after the degree has finished is disorientating. There seemed no exact end, as the New Designers Show at the Business Design Centre was in the last week of June while the course finished some six weeks before. The summer followed on with a certain amount of disorientation that was to be expected from the change. The re orientation back into life has given time for reflection. However great questions have formed around a sense of direction. I have kept embroidering developing my line theme working on fabrics and perspex embroideries. I have started research to inform my academic writing. I have been accepted as a Licentiate with The Society of Designer Craftsmen. I am researching a collaboration project for next spring. My website is up and running www.lesley_illingworth.co.uk
August line embroidery – Following a visit to the Barbara Hepworth exhibition at Tate Britain. I started a line embroidery based on my influences of the holes within her work.
